On 12 August 2026, the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES) held a review meeting for the projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China. President Ding Chun introduced the application work for the 2026 National Social Science Fund projects for academic groups and the project applications and reviews of SIES. Former President Xu Mingqi introduced the application materials and the review results of the institute. Secretary Wu Zhongyong put forward further requirements for the subsequent organization of applications. Fang Yi, Liu Jun, Shang Yuhong, Wu Huiping, Yang Fengmin, Yang Haifeng, Yu Jianhua, and Zhang Yinghong attended the meeting.
