On 20 July 2026, Jeppe Søe, the former deputy speaker of the Danish Parliament, visited the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES). Søe engaged in discussions with the institute's experts on a wide range of topics, including China-Denmark relations, EU-China cooperation, European strategic autonomy, the transformation of globalization, and changes in the international order. The symposium was chaired by Professor Xu Mingqi, the former president of SIES.
