SIES Co-organized the Seminar “Fundamental Innovation and Spillover Effects in Key Technology Sectors: How are China, the US, and the EU Performing?”

On January 15, 2026, the seminar on Fundamental Innovation and Spillover Effects in Key Technology Sectors: How are China, the US, and the EU Performing? was co-organized by the Shanghai Institution for European Studies (SIES) and the Center for China-Europe Relations at the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University at the Liberal Arts Building of Fudan University. Alicia Garcia, Chief Economist for Asia-Pacific at Natixis and an expert from Bruegel, delivered a keynote speech on the topic and engaged in discussions with Shanghai-based experts and scholars. Professor Ding Chun, President of SIES and Director of the Center for European Studies at Fudan University, delivered a welcome speech. The exchange was moderated by Associate Researcher Yan Shaohua, Director of the International Exchange Department of SIES and Deputy Director of the Center for China-Europe Relations at the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University. Participants included Professor Men Jing from the School of Politics and International Relations at East China Normal University; Jian Junbo, Director of the Center for China-Europe Relations at the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University; Long Jing, Deputy Director of the Center for European Studies at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies; Professor Liao Jia from the School of International Business at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics; and Zhu Yichen, Director of the Consulting Department of SIES, among others.
