On November 2, 2025, the symposium “Great Power Rivalry and the Reconstruction of Eurasian Order in the New Era” was held at the Putuo Campus of East China Normal University. This event was organized as part of 19th Academic Month (2025) of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations. It was organized by the Shanghai Association for Russian, East European & Central Asian Studies and co-hosted by the Shanghai Institute for European Studies (SIES), the Shanghai Association for International Relations, and Center for Russian Studies at East China Normal University. Yang Haifeng, Secretary-General of the SIES, chaired the panel on “Great Power Strategies, International Organizations and International Governance in Eurasia.” In the panel on “National Choices Amid Eurasian Order Reconfiguration,” he delivered a keynote address on the EU’s security and defense strategy. Yu Jianhua, Vice President of SIES and Research Fellow at the Institute of International Studies, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, presented on the SCO process and international governance in Eurasia. Professor Liu Jun, President of the Shanghai Association for Russian, East European & Central Asian Studies and Executive Director of the Center for Russian Studies at East China Normal University, delivered the concluding remarks. Scholars and experts from multiple universities and research institutions engaged in in-depth discussions centered on the current challenges and development opportunities facing the Eurasian region.
